There are some things more important than the house.......

Abbye got to stay and play with us for two days while Amy was in a workshop.
I don't know if she learned to climb here,  but she definitely knows how to climb NOW!

We also learned about little Quack.

Now to the basement.  The men arrived to dig the dirt out of the center.  We ended up with 13-14 loads.

Abbye thinks everything is going great.

The hole is 10' to 10' 6" deep.
The plan is to pour the floor tomorrow and then frame the basement Friday.

Basement Walls

Today the walls of the basement were trenched and poured.  The trencher digs a 9" wide trench, 11' 6" deep.  Rebar was added to the walls and corners.  I was amazed at the amount of concrete used.  Thirty yards in the walls alone.  The walls will dry 5-6 days then the dirt removed so the floor can be poured.  Hollye, Cade and Lanny came to watch the excitement.
More later, Gary

Finally

After weeks and weeks of planning and waiting we are finally starting our house. We moved dirt to level the lot. Because of the soil we drilled piers 15' deep to rest the footing on. This house should not move or crack! The footing was dug today and hopfully the concrete poured tomorrow.Add Image
